About us

Our vision
As Winchester’s Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu club, our vision has always embraced openness and accessibility. We believe you should be able to train when and with whom you choose. Whether you’re a beginner, hobbyist, or seasoned practitioner, you’re always welcome. We offer a supportive, challenging environment to help you grow. As you improve, you’ll push your limits and build confidence—both on and off the mats. Ultimately, the more people training together, the better the experience for everyone.
Our Mission
Our mission is to provide a safe, inclusive environment where students can learn and grow through the art of Jiu-Jitsu. We aim to make learning enjoyable while encouraging respect, discipline, and a positive mindset. Through this approach, every student is supported in reaching their full potential.
Club history
Sub Club Grappling started in 2018 as a casual way for friends to get in some extra sparring. The name “Sub Club,” inspired by Fight Club and a sense of fun, reflects our relaxed roots and love for submission grappling.
As interest continued to grow, so did the opportunity to evolve. As a result, we’re now proud to be Winchester’s Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu club. Today, we’re based at the elite Winchester College facility — a setting that truly reflects our passion and ambition for the sport.

Club lineage
Sub Club Grappling is proud to be part of the UK Bitetti Team. Our head instructor, Dan, is a 1st Degree Black Belt under Roberto Almeida – Head of the UK Bitetti Team – who himself earned his black belt from the legendary Amaury Bitetti. This strong lineage connects us to some of the most respected names in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and we take great pride in the legacy that shapes our approach to training, teaching, and growth on the mats.
